 This course systematically teaches all the speech sounds of the International Phonetic Alphabet and provides training on more than 800 frequently used words and about 400 commonly used phrases.

 In the introductory chapter, "Foreword," learners can gain valuable insights into the benefits of lip reading and learn effective techniques to master this skill in daily conversations.

 The "Consonants" chapter comprises twelve tutorials that comprehensively cover the reading of all twenty-four consonant sounds. Additionally, the chapter includes forty levels for ample practice.
 </li>

<li>
 The "Vowels" chapter consists of fourteen tutorials that comprehensively cover the reading of all twenty vowel sounds. Furthermore, thirty levels are available for practice.
 </li>

 In the "Numbers" chapter, learners will find training on numbers as well as words associated with money, among others.
 </li>

<li>
 The "Words" chapter focuses on training on more than five hundred frequently used words.
 </li>

<li>
 Lastly, the "Phrases" chapter provides training on approximately four hundred frequently used phrases.
 </li>

<li>
 Successful completion of each chapter requires achieving a correction rate of over 50% in every level. Upon meeting this requirement, learners can obtain a certificate on the designated Certificate page.

Lip Reading: A Valuable Skill

Scientific studies have shown that while lip reading alone may enable only partial understanding of the English language (approximately 30 to 45 percent), it is an invaluable aid in enhancing speech comprehension. By incorporating visual cues, individuals greatly increase their chances of successful conversation, thus boosting confidence in communication skills.

While real-world experience remains paramount in developing lip reading proficiency, systematic teaching and consistent training can significantly enhance this skill. Lip Reading Academy adopts a comprehensive approach by teaching students to observe lip, tongue, and jaw movements while employing deductive reasoning. Promising results have been documented in studies commissioned by the Action on Hearing Loss charity in the United Kingdom.
